Today, the Nigerian singer will wed his longtime partner, Chioma Rowland, in a grandiose ceremony attended by several celebrities in Lagos.
The award-winning musician arrived in one of his most costly luxury cars for the wedding, which was attended by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and other wealthy Nigerian socialites like Cubana Chief Priest.
Mercedes-Maybach and the late Ghanaian-American designer Virgil Abloh collaborated on the legendary vehicle. There were just 150 of the limited-edition Maybach S 680 sedans made globally.
For Davido’s special day, the 2023 Mercedes Maybach Virgil Abloh S680 is unquestionably a unique option. With fans and spectators cheering him on, the artist posted a video to social media of himself being driven to his traditional wedding under strict security.
The post’s caption read, “Nigeria is happy.” The post received over 70,000 responses from Instagram users in only two hours.
According to reports, Davido paid $120,000 to bring the vehicle to Nigeria last year. After Virgil Abloh’s death, the car was released in his honor. Before his premature demise at age 41, Virgil had previously worked with Mercedes-Benz on the Geländewagen.
Ola of Lagos, a Nigerian socialite who reviews high-end vehicles, claims that Davido was the first African to introduce the 2023 Mercedes Maybach to the continent.
Since making their affair public in 2018, Nigerian Afrobeats artist Davido and chef and influencer Chioma Avril Rowland have been embroiled in a turbulent relationship.
In 2019, the pair were engaged, and later that year, they welcomed Ifeanyi Adeleke, their son. He tragically drowned in a home pool accident when he was three years old. Davido and Chioma were later blessed with twins in spite of this devastating loss.
They have encountered many difficulties along the way, such as accusations of adultery, breakup rumors, and heavy public scrutiny. Even so, they continue to garner attention as a prominent couple.
They are currently celebrating with a lavish ceremony after legally getting married in 2023.
