With assistance from fellow YouTuber Wode Maya, well-known Ghanaian actor and skit creator Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, better known online as Dr. Likee, recently revealed how he earned his first sizable payment from his YouTube skits.

In a social media video of a conversation with Emelia Brobbey, Dr. Likee recounted the amazing tale of how his first YouTube video earned an astounding $20,000, or GH₵304,000.

Dr. Likee described the unexpected development, describing how Wode Maya had provided him a document to carry to the bank over WhatsApp. Dr. Likee was shocked to receive about $20,000 in cash at the bank because he was unfamiliar with the contents of the document.

“Wode Maya called to let me know that he had emailed me a document to carry to the bank via WhatsApp. I had no idea what the document was about, let alone comprehend it. One of the bank employees requested me to sit down as soon as I showed him. Then I noticed him counting out my dollar bills. In the interview, Dr. Likee recalled, “I wondered what I had done, and then he put the money in an envelope and gave it to me.”

Dr. Likee, who was shocked and at first suspicious, explained how he believed the incident might be a trap. But when he got home and counted the money, he verified that it was, in fact, close to $20,000.

Dr. Likee conveyed his sincere appreciation to Wode Maya for his constant assistance and direction as he navigated the complexities of using social media to further his career.

“I contacted Wode Maya to express my gratitude at that point. He told me to concentrate on creating skits because, if I do it properly, it will be beneficial for me, and to ignore messages from individuals who were trying to discourage me.

Ghanaian YouTuber and social media influencer Wode Maya, whose real name is Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, is well-known for his travel vlogs and video that highlights the various cultures, lifestyles, and developmental stories found throughout Africa.

He is notable for being the first person from Ghana to reach one million YouTube subscribers. According to reports, Wode Maya’s YouTube channel brings her between $30,000 and $50,000 a month.
