Thanks to better agricultural methods and ideal weather, Ghana’s cocoa production hit a record high this year. The entire production surpassed one million tonnes, a 20% increase over the previous year, according to the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).
Joseph Boahen Aidoo, CEO of COCOBOD, stated, “This outstanding accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of our farmers and the support from various stakeholders.” The bountiful harvest was a result of improved pest control techniques, timely fertilizer distribution, and improved farmer training programs. It is anticipated that the enhanced output will reinforce Ghana’s status as one of the world’s top cocoa producers and strengthen the country’s economy.
