The event unfolded with a rollercoaster of amazement and disappointments, despite a delayed start that tried the patience of the supporters.

King Promise, one of the front-runners for the ultimate accolade, Artiste of the Year, had a lackluster performance in stark contrast to Stonebwoy’s spectacular performance, which brought the house down.

While actors Naa Ashorkor and Chris Attoh’s hosting failed to wow the crowd, gospel singer Queendalyn Yurglee’s unexpected win for Best Female Vocal Performance created a lot of talk.

In honor of its 25th anniversary, Charterhouse’s TGMA demonstrated its ability to be unexpected, exciting, and conversation-starting. A summary of the recent TGMA event’s highlights is provided below:The much-anticipated Red Carpet, which attracted numerous superstars fighting for attention, kicked off the evening. The annual awards presentation has always featured this portion as a highlight, and this year was no exception. The glitz and glitter of the event were enhanced by the stunning appearances of notable individuals like Chris Attoh, Naa Ashorkor, Sista Efya, Efia Odo, Kwabena Kwabena, Nadia Buari, Zynell Zuh, and Naa Ashorkor.

But not everyone was able to make an impression. Fans were perplexed by the dress choices of Kuami Eugene, DJ Azonto, Official Dacosta, TikTokers Asantewaa, and Wesley Kesse. The Red Carpet continued to be a vibrant display of elegance and glitz in spite of these fashion faux pas.

Hosting That Is DryIt was anticipated that Chris Attoh and Naa Ashorkor, two well-known actors, would bring enthusiasm and personality to the stage as hosts.

However, many felt that their performance lacked the flare that one would expect from such seasoned hosts, despite their well-established reputations. The ceremony continued until the early hours of the following day due to the event’s persistently late start, which was made worse by protracted speeches and needless compliments from the winners and award presenters.

The organizers’ disrespect for timeliness has escalated to an alarming degree for a 25-year-old event, and Charterhouse needs to take quick action.

To reflect the TGMA’s prestigious position on the national entertainment calendar, they ought to set their standards against those of the top international awards.

Show-stopping PerformancesThe evening’s performances enthralled the audience in spite of the failures.

One particularly moving highlight was Nacee’s gospel-inspired performance, which was a sincere homage to the late KODA.Stonebwoy’s energetic performance, which smoothly switched from “Manodzi” to his next single “Your Body,” enthralled the audience.

“Efya showcased her exceptional vocal talent and stage presence, reaffirming her nickname as the” Big Dragon.

Additionally, Mr. Drew’s choreography captivated the audience, while Kuami Eugene brought his rockstar spirit to the stage.

Fans were filled with nostalgia when the renowned Amakye Dede, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award, played his immortal melodies.Additional noteworthy performances featured the distinct styles and intensity of Okyeame Kwame, Kwabena Kwabena, Reggie Rockstone, Epixode, Mzbel, Akwaboah, Amerado, King Paluta, and Eno Barony.

Big FlopIn a surprising turn of events, King Promise, a leading candidate for Artiste of the Year, gave a drab performance that did not engage the audience.

An artist who stood to benefit greatly from a great performance and the high expectations of fans made a startling error.

Hits and MissesStonebwoy emerged victorious from the TGMA awards ceremony, winning the prestigious Artiste of the Year title. King Promise’s admirers were let down despite his outstanding year-long performance.

But there was no doubting King Paluta’s well-earned victory as Best New Artiste, as his extraordinary talent and commitment were acknowledged by the audience’s thunderous acclaim.

Congratulatory applause filled the theater, making King Paluta’s triumph a very remarkable evening high point.

Adina and Abiana fans, meanwhile, were disappointed and stunned when their idols did not win Best Female Vocal Performance. Rather, Queendalyn Yurglee, a gospel performer who was unfamiliar to many audience members, received the award.

Gyakie, a singer who many thought would have received recognition for her efforts and accomplishments during the reviewed year, was similarly disappointed by the evening.

Fans were disappointed as Gyakie departed empty-handed after receiving two nominations in the Most Popular Song and Best International Collaboration categories.

Charterhouse’s challengeThis year’s TGMA highlighted opportunities for development, notwithstanding Charterhouse’s admirable celebration of Ghanaian music and its artists throughout the years, which has been a major driver of industry growth.

To improve the entire experience for attendees, award recipients, performers, and television viewers alike, these include adhering to the event’s scheduled start time, cutting down on needless stage delays through tighter production and dry rehearsals, and guaranteeing more captivating performances.

Future events will also need to improve audience interaction and introduce a more effective procedure for award presentations. In order to accurately represent the diversity of Ghanaian music, the organizers should also think about presenting a more inclusive and varied lineup of artists and speakers.
